Additionally, it supports LED, Zener diode, continuity (on/off), and DC voltage measurements up to 36V. The tester's case is made of plastic, and the test ends are gold-plated to prevent rust, ensuring durability and accuracy.

This product complies with the 2nd grade environmental pollution safety standard and European Union CE certification (EMC electromagnetism compatible).

1.1 Saugos gairės

  • Before use, always inspect the tester for any damage to the case or metal clamp arm. Do not use if any damage is found.
  • Do not input DC voltage exceeding 36V to the measuring port.
  • Do not use the tester in environments with explosive gas, steam, or dust.

3. Sąranka ir veikimas

The UT116 series testers require two 1.5V AAA (R03) batteries. Batteries are not included in the package due to shipping restrictions.

  2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the device.
  3. Open the battery cover and insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity.

The tester will turn on automatically after battery installation. If the tester works abnormally or displays the low battery symbol (+ -), replace the batteries.

Automatic Identification (UT116A Only)

When the UT116A is turned on, the LCD will display "SCAN" and "---", indicating it is in automatic identification mode. It will automatically identify and measure resistance, capacitance, and diode. The measurement value will be displayed when the test leads contact the object.

Always discharge high voltage resistance and disconnect power when measuring components on a PCB board to prevent damage to the tester or the components.

  • Adjust the function button to the Ω mastelis.
  • In automatic identification mode (UT116A), the range is 300.0Ω to 30.00MΩ.
  • For UT116C, select the resistance auto range mode using the SELECT button.
  • The LCD will display "OL" (Over Load) if the value exceeds the acceptable range.

  • In automatic identification mode (UT116A), the range is 3.000nF to 300.0uF.
  • For UT116C, select the capacitance auto range mode using the SELECT button.

Before capacitance measurement, ensure the power is disconnected and all high voltage resistance is completely discharged to prevent damage to the tester or measuring objects.

  • Switch the function key to the + - mastelis.
  • Press the SELECT button to choose auto identify mode or diode mode.
  • Connect the anode test lead to the anode of the diode and the cathode test lead to the cathode of the diode.
  • The LCD will display the forward voltage drop value 0.5V-0.8V of measure silicon diode.

Continuity Test (On/Off Test)

  • Adjust the function button to the ))) mastelis.
  • Press SELECT to choose automatic identification or on/off test mode.
  • The buzzer will beep if the resistance is less than 30Ω (UT116A) or 50Ω (UT116C). No beep for resistance over 1000Ω.

Semi-conductor or LED Test

  • Adjust the function button to the LED mastelis.
  • Connect the input port and the public test port to the anode and cathode of the Zener diode or LED. The directions of anode and cathode can be adjusted by rotating the test leads.
  • The LCD will display the Zener diode breakdown voltage or the LED operating voltage.
  • Atviros grandinės tūristage: about 21V. If the displayed voltage exceeds 21V, the measuring semi-conductor or LED will not be damaged. Current: about 1mA.

DC ttage Measurement (UT116A Only)

  • Adjust the function button to the DCV mastelis.
  • Connect the test leads correctly to the DC voltage šaltinis.
  • The LCD will display the measured voltage value (Max 36V).

  • Adjust the function button to the DCV mastelis.
  • Connect the test leads to the battery terminals.
  • The LCD will display the measured voltage value. This mode has a load current of approximately 10mA.

Pastaba:

Do not measure other live circuits with the UT116C battery voltage measurement mode. The forward load is about 10mA, and there is no load for reverse. There may be offsets in the measurement of forward and reverse battery voltage. Reverse battery voltage is virtually high.

4.1 Low Battery Indication and Replacement

The battery needs to be replaced if any of the following occur:

  • The + - symbol appears on the display during use.
  • The buzzer beeps when the tester starts up and then shuts down again.
  • The tester restarts or shuts down under the LED test scale.

If you encounter issues with your UNI-T UT116 series SMD Tester, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Display or Abnormal Readings: Check battery installation and replace with fresh 1.5V AAA batteries if the low battery indicator is on or if the tester behaves abnormally (e.g., beeps and shuts down immediately).
