7. Problemų sprendimas

7.1 Fault Code Analysis

Understanding fault codes is crucial for effective troubleshooting. Fault codes are structured to provide information about the system and type of fault.

Diagram explaining fault code analysis, breaking down a P0182 code. No.1 defines the system (P-Powertrain, C-Chassis, B-Body, U-Network). No.2 defines the code type (Universal, Manufacturer-defined). No.3 defines the system component (Fuel, Air, Emission, Ignition, Speed, Computer, Transmission, Gearbox, Hybrid). No.4, 5 define specific fault details.
Figure 12: Fault Code Analysis Structure (Example P0182)
  • No.1 (First Character): Indicates the system (P-Powertrain, C-Chassis, B-Body, U-Network Communication).
  • No.2 (Second Character): Indicates the type of fault (0-Universal, 1-Manufacturer Defined, 2-Universal, 3-P3000-P3399: Customized by manufacturer, P3400-P3FFF: Common fault code).
  • No.3 (Third Character): Indicates the specific system component (e.g., 1-Fuel/Air Metering, 2-Fuel/Air Metering (Injector Circuit), 3-Ignition System, 4-Emission Control, 5-Speed and Idle Control, 6-Computer or Auxiliary Output Circuit, 7-Transmission, 8-Transmission, 9-Gearbox, A/B/C-Hybrid Power System).
  • No.4, 5 (Fourth and Fifth Characters): Provide specific fault details.

7.2 Bendros problemos

  • Skaitytuvas neįsijungia: Ensure the 16-pin connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's OBD-II port and the vehicle's ignition is on (or engine running). Check the vehicle's fuse for the OBD-II port if necessary.
  • Connection fails (orange indicator): Verify the connection to the OBD-II port. Ensure the vehicle is OBD-II compliant and the year of manufacture is within the supported range.
  • Cannot clear fault codes: Some persistent faults may require multiple drive cycles or addressing the underlying mechanical issue before the code can be permanently cleared.
