The MARS 61481 780 Definite Purpose Contactor operates by using an electromagnetic coil to open and close a set of electrical contacts. This allows current to flow through the connected load. When power is removed from the coil, the magnetic field collapses, and springs return the contacts to their open position, interrupting the power to the load.
