1. Removing the Old Thermostat: Depress the rectangular locking tab on the bottom of the thermostat with a small screwdriver. Pull the thermostat away from the wall from the bottom. Unplug the connector by depressing the locking tab. Remove the back plate mounting screws and remove the back plate.
